The Las Vegas Strip The Las Vegas Strip, S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109, United States

4.2-mile-long section of iconic hotels, casinos, restaurants & attractions open day & night.

Known officially as Las Vegas Boulevard, the Las Vegas Strip is the most recognizable street in Las Vegas. It is home to the most famous hotels and casinos in the city, which makes it one of the most photographed and visited avenues in the world.

The Strip is best-known as an adult playground, a place where grown-ups can do almost anything they please. The hotel casinos encompass every type of design, from elaborate themes of by-gone eras to modern, sleek styles with lots of windows. The entertainment options include adults-only shows, nightclubs, and every kind of casino game you can imagine–and probably a few you've never heard of. Last call is virtually unheard of, and you never know what celebrities you might see. It's Vegas, baby!

When Las Vegas took a sharp turn toward luxury and upper-crust accommodations, the city also welcomed award-winning chefs. Look for well-known names like Charlie Palmer, Thomas Keller, and Wolfgang Puck. Some chefs have more than one restaurant in Las Vegas, and with the city's enhanced dining profile, some chefs have located their only U.S. locations here, like Guy Savoy.

Almost every hotel casino has a nightclub, but the seriously trendy clubs aren't just a place to go for a few drinks and dancing. The long lines to get in attest to how popular places like XS and Tao are, and the prevalence of celebrity sightings is proof as to just how chic the best Las Vegas clubs are.

You will definitely need a "you are here" map for some of the large properties on the Strip. The MGM Grand and the Venetian/Palazzo complex are among the largest hotels in the world, offering guests every imaginable type of room. These large hotels also contain shops, restaurants, and entertainment. Guests need never leave these mammoth buildings unless they simply want to.

Luxury stores can be found all along the Strip, at any of the malls. At places like Caesars Forum Shops and the Venetian's Grand Canal Shoppes combine high-end retailers with elaborate interior designs and entertainment. The Strip's newest mall, Crystals, offers exclusive shops, like Tiffany, Versace, and Dior, without any pretense. The only stand-alone mall on the Strip, the Fashion Show, appeals to both tourists and locals with a large selection of mid and upscale retailers.

Besides being home to the best hotels, the strip also always has a special ambiance. For a large part of the day, the hotels offer shows: The Fountains of the Bellagio or the Cirque du Soleil are some good examples.

On the Strip, between the hotels and casinos, you will find one of the most popular commercial centers: Fashion Show Mall. On the lower floor, you will find clothes shops, and on the upper floor, restaurants and fast food chains.

The best time to tour the Strip and enjoy its ambiance is when Las Vegas comes alive at night.
